A Transitional Office/Guest room in Grey & White (Mood Board Monday)

Today’s Mood Board is for a transitional style office/guest room in grey and white. This client asked for some inspiration for an office/guest room combo. They love the transitional style (mixing the old with new), and a grey/white color scheme.

In this mood board, I came up with the idea to have a dark grey accent wall. The other three walls would be a light grey that ties in the rest of the home.

Because butterflies are an important family symbol in this home, I thought it would be a wonderful idea to incorporate different butterfly artworks throughout the room. This could also be a great way to get the kiddos involved in some family friendly DIY!

The desk idea was one that I found on Pinterest. Essentially, you can purchase the two bottom drawer pieces from Ikea, and attach a wood top of your choosing (see link below).

Below, are links to a few other ideas and products in this mood board 🙂

*Comforter…. Second Quilt Option (Budget Friendly)
*Ikea Desk HackIkea Cabinets
*DIY Paper Butterfly project
*Framed Silver Butterflies– These are available for purchase, but I believe it would make a great DIY project

Hello! I'm Megan, the author of Home and Holidecor. I am a wife, mama, and interior decorator. Whether I am decorating inside of a home, an outdoor space, or decorating for a party/event, making a space look beautiful and special is what I love to do. To me, decorating is an art form. How you decorate your home, tells your personal and family story. Decorations at your wedding tell your love story. Your dream backyard or garden reveals your personal oasis. I think that's why I love it so much because it's almost like writing a story with furniture, paint, light fixtures, and picture frames. “Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love,” – Nate Berkus.
