DIY St. Patrick’s Day Sign ☘️

How cute is this sign for your upcoming St. Patrick’s Day party?!

My mom asked me to make this sign for her, and I think it shamROCKS my socks! ☘️ It only cost me about $10 to make. That being said, I did already have a Cricut machine and leftover vinyl for the lettering.

Below, is a short video tutorial to give you an idea of how I made it.

Materials:

☘️Wood Sign ($5 at Walmart)

☘️Sandpaper or block

☘️Green Paint (I used “New Shamrock” by Apply Barrel, purchased at Walmart $2)

☘️Paint Brush

☘️Cricut machine/ white and gold vinyl

☘️Optional: Gold glitter and Mod Podge $3

1. Start by sanding and cleaning your sign. It may not need much. Use your best judgment. You want it to be smooth
2. Paint your sign. Try to get in the cracks and along all of the edges. You don’t want any brown showing.
3. Once dry, apply your vinyl lettering.
4. Apply any other decorative touches. I added a shamrock cut from gold vinyl.
5. Optional: I decided that I wanted glitter on my sign. I used Mod Podge and chunky, gold glitter ✨
This was my final product!☘️💚

Hello! I'm Megan, the author of Home and Holidecor. I am a wife, mama, and interior decorator. Whether I am decorating inside of a home, an outdoor space, or decorating for a party/event, making a space look beautiful and special is what I love to do. To me, decorating is an art form. How you decorate your home, tells your personal and family story. Decorations at your wedding tell your love story. Your dream backyard or garden reveals your personal oasis. I think that's why I love it so much because it's almost like writing a story with furniture, paint, light fixtures, and picture frames. “Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love,” – Nate Berkus.
